Practice Storyboard

Here is my storyboard practice!

Self Reflection:
The easy part of doing this storyboard was the drawing of the storyboard. Regardless of how easy the drawings are I feel like I could put in much more effort in it. The difficult part was analysing what to put in the storyboard since I'm kind of confused what techniques elements and other details to put in each slides.

Advert Proposal

This is my ad proposal for storyboard focused on Ray-Ban Sunglasses!

In this concise 30-second advert, the main character, a confident young boy, takes center stage. As he confidently walks through a vibrant sun-soaked park, he feels the warmth of the sun on his skin. His attire is casually stylish, reflecting his unique personality and youthful spirit. Spotting two young women engaged in lively conversation on a park bench, he decides to approach them, eager to make a connection. Greeting them with a friendly smile, he senses their initial disinterest, but he doesn't let it deter him. Instead, he reaches into his pocket, unveiling a sleek Ray-Ban Luxury Sunglasses case, a symbol of surprise and sophistication. As he puts on the sunglasses, a transformation unfolds. The sunglasses radiate luxury, perfectly complementing his style and making him look incredibly stunning. The two women, now captivated by his newfound charm, turn to him with admiration and curiosity. With a surge of confidence and allure, he becomes the center of attention, effortlessly commanding their gaze. They exchange smiles and playful glances, their interest in him significantly heightened. He confidently walks between them, epitomizing class, elegance, and unmatched style. Ray-Ban Luxury Sunglasses have elevated his look, and he is the embodiment of confidence and charisma. As the Ray-Ban logo appears on screen, accompanied by the tagline, "Elevate Your Style with Ray-Ban Luxury Sunglasses," he is reminded that this transformation is all about him. The closing voiceover reinforces the message, emphasizing that with Ray-Ban sunglasses, he can be irresistible and unforgettable. The background music, a catchy and upbeat tune, resonates with his youthful energy and style. This advert is tailored to his individuality, encouraging him to choose Ray-Ban as more than just an accessory but as a statement of his self-assured style and elegance, ensuring he stands out and makes a memorable impression.

Text Analysis: A Quiet Place

THIS IS MY VIDEO ANALYSIS FOR "A QUIET PLACE"

The text was an extract from a movie called A Quite Place. The filmmaker wants to make a creepy and unusual sensation on the movie and to make the audience feel in a particular way of sorrow. In the first scene of the movie it shows an abandoned city road which conveys that no one left is there and the city is left abandoned as if it is "dead"

The opening scene of the movie shows an abandoned city, which looks dirty, un take cared, with an additional of diegetic sounds such as the wind blowing This adds a particular feeling/emotion to the audience such as the emotion of loneliness and uneasy. This conveys that this city has been left abandoned by it's citizens a long time..  Next scene shows an abandoned grocery store with no lighting, messy shelves, and very dirty, which connotates that something massive happened. The director use low light situations to tense the creepy and eerie atmosphere. The director uses a long shot to indicate that the characters were the only one there. This really builds up tension and adds unusual feeling to the audience. The lightings and camera pans extremely affects on this film to create a creepy and eerie mis-en-scene. To sum this up, In my personal thoughts the director did a fantastic job on giving eerie and mysterious feeling in this movie.

WEEK 8

Self reflection on brief post, I think it will be difficult

Start final storyboard

Continue storyboard draft. It was easy to draw and think of the drawings needed. I made a few changes to it.

Commence progress on final storyboard which was alright. Though making the boxes made me a bit frustrated by how unperfect they were.

Finished 4 of possible 13 shots. I did not care about the boxes this time and made them quite rough with a pen.

Added shot no. 4 to storyboard which was not part of SB draft. I think it will not hurt to add it as the duration of it would only be quite short.

WEEK 9

We continued the storyboard project. I added the brief post onto my blog thanks to the help of friends. I added mini self reflections on the posts that required them. I found this pretty easy to do since I can remember a lot of what I did. I also managed to finish my final storyboard on Wednesday night which allowed me to complete the self reflection. I found that my time management was spot on this week.

We learnt about media theories which I found very interesting and relatable as it related to me a lot.
